FAQ’s
What are back doors?
Back doors are also known as side doors or rear entrances. They are typically situated so that you can access your back garden.
Why are back doors so popular?
Back doors are popular as they may offer more convenience than using the front door. For instance, if the parking for your house is closer to your back door than the front, then it would make sense for you to use the back door to get in.
Do I need to have a back door?
Although you do not necessarily need to have a back door, it is common to see them due to building regulations in the UK. The regulations state that in a single-storey bungalow, there must be two exits, one of which is the front door. Although there is some freedom in selecting the second exit on the ground floor, such as a large window, it is more practical to use a back door.
Can I have a pet flap?
Yes, you can! Our back doors can be customised to add a pet flap.
Can I use an interior door as a back door?
It is not advisable to use an interior door as a back (or front) door as there are key differences between interior and exterior doors. Exterior doors are made to act as a barrier between home intruders and bad weather conditions. On the other hand, interior doors are made for privacy and division within a property and don’t have the benefits of providing insulation and security.
How much are back doors?
It is challenging to say the exact pricing of your back door. There are a lot of variables that affect the price of back doors. To give you a quote, we will need information such as the size, the style, your approximate location in Suffolk, Essex, or the surrounding area, and any additional information.
